The lodge is located on the southeast side of Piseco Lake, 14 miles south of Speculator.

Getting there

Piseco Lake is in the south central Adirondacks, about four hours from New York City and Boston. If you’re flying in, the nearest airports are Syracuse and Albany–although you can (for a price) fly directly to Piseco’s tiny airport. Be sure to fill up your tank before entering the Adirondack Park as gas stations are few and far between.

Things to do

From the lodge you can paddle around Piseco Lake and out the Piseco outlet into Big Bay. The fishing here is some of the best in the Adirondacks, and in the winter you can snowmobile directly from the house. From the south side of East Shore Road you can cross Route 8 and walk through the woods to Big Bay. A short drive around the lake takes you to the Piseco Lake Lodge Store where you can find s’more ingredients and awesome doughnuts on Saturday morning as well as the trailhead to Echo Cliffs and Panther Mountain. The nearest dining is the Oxbow Inn up Route 8, and then the Inn at Speculator, Sunrise Diner, and King of the Frosties. Also in Speculator you’ll find groceries, gas, the classic Speculator Department Store if you want a local tee-shirt; mini golf, and evening entertainment in the summer. Just beyond Speculator there’s Oak Mountain, where you can go downhill skiing, tubing, snow shoeing, mountain biking, and disc golf. In a twenty mile radius of the lodge you’ll find dozens of fantastic hikes and paddles; our favorites are Augur Falls, Jockeybush Lake, G Lake, Fern Lake and of course Panther Mountain. Day trips include the Adirondack Experience Museum at Blue Lake, Lake George, and Saratoga Springs.
